Our Sedation Philosophy: Fear Should Never Dictate Your Health

Our philosophy begins by honoring your experience: dental fear is real and valid. To address this, Dr. Mohammad holds a Florida Moderate Sedation License, a credential earned through rigorous training, advanced equipment, and state oversight. This licensing is the foundation of our care, guaranteeing that your safety and comfort are proactively managed, finally allowing you to receive the essential treatment you may have been avoiding.

Your Licensed Safety Net: Our System for Controllable Comfort

Anxiety is eliminated through choice and licensed safety. Our comprehensive menu ensures you select the perfect level of controlled comfort for your needs, backed by continuous monitoring and the highest clinical oversight.

The Time Warp: Letting Your Fear Disappear

IV Sedation is the gold standard for eliminating deep fear. It provides a rapid, predictable level of comfort where you remain safely conscious but unaware of the procedure. It is performed by a state-licensed doctor under continuous monitoring.

Comprehensive Comfort Menu

We offer a full spectrum of relief. This includes crucial non-sedative amenities like noise-canceling headphones, warm blankets, and virtual reality. For deeper relief, we offer Oral Conscious Sedation or Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas). We tailor the exact option to your anxiety level.

Professional Monitoring & Recovery

Every sedation option, especially IV, is performed using safety protocols that meet the highest standards for licensed sedation in the State of Florida. We utilize continuous vital signs monitoring, the latest safety equipment, ensuring your safe return to comfort with minimal post-operative friction

your Questions, Answered

IV Sedation is extremely safe when performed by a licensed dentist who adheres to state protocols. Our continuous vital signs monitoring, advanced equipment, and extensive licensure training ensure the highest level of patient safety and professional oversight throughout your appointment.

All doctors who administer IV sedation in our office are ACLS-certified and trained to handle airway and sedation-related emergencies. We follow the Florida Administrative Code 64B5-14 for emergency preparedness, which includes maintaining an emergency cart stocked with the necessary equipment, medications, and reversal agents for the drugs we use. Sedation medications are given slowly and in carefully measured doses (titration) to achieve relaxation without compromising safety. Throughout your procedure, your breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels are continuously monitored.

With IV Sedation, most patients have little to no memory of the procedure once the medication wears off. With Oral Conscious Sedation, you will be deeply relaxed, but you may have hazy or fragmented memories of the visit.

Insurance coverage for sedation varies widely. While Nitrous Oxide is sometimes covered, IV Sedation is generally considered elective and may not be. We will verify your benefits and provide transparent cost estimates before your procedure.

We commonly use a combination of midazolam and fentanyl. Midazolam helps you feel calm and relaxed, while fentanyl helps control discomfort during your procedure. Both are given in carefully measured doses and are continuously monitored for your safety.

Fentanyl is a strong pain-relieving medication often used in medical and dental settings for short procedures. In IV sedation, it helps prevent discomfort while you’re relaxed. Midazolam is a type of sedative from the benzodiazepine family. It reduces anxiety, helps you feel calm, and often causes short-term memory loss for the procedure so you remember little afterward. When used together in controlled, small doses — and with continuous monitoring — they allow you to stay comfortable, safe, and responsive during treatment.
